Mediative (referred to as "MEDIATIVE" in this policy), recognizes the importance of confidentiality and the protection of personal and customer information. This user policy explains how we use and protect any and all personal and customer information we hold, whether it relates to our customers, potential customers, job candidates, partners, former associates or partners or third party service providers.

Our Commitment to Privacy

At MEDIATIVE, the security and integrity of our customers' information is important to us. We take every measure available to protect the privacy of our customers while providing the high level services they expect.

MEDIATIVE takes responsibility for maintaining and protecting the customer information under our control. We review this policy and our personal data protection practices on a regular basis to ensure that we are in compliance with applicable legislation and current best practices. MEDIATIVE's privacy practices are in accordance with all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations.

What is Personal Information?
Personal information means information about an identifiable individual or information that permits an individual to be identified. It does not include business contact information, such as name, title, business address and business telephone number when used for business communications.

MEDIATIVE has in place privacy and security practices to safeguard our customers' personal information. These practices are reviewed, and if necessary revised, on a regular basis. Additionally, MEDIATIVE's employees receive privacy training and must comply with MEDIATIVE's privacy practices as a condition of employment.

At MEDIATIVE, we collect customer information for one or more of the following purposes:

  • To understand customer requirements and make information available regarding products and services offered by MEDIATIVE and its agents, dealers and related companies;
  • To manage and develop MEDIATIVE’s business and operations;
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements; and
  • In some of our newsletters and other communications, we may confirm a recipient’s email address through embedded links within the messages. We collect this information to gauge user interest and to enhance future user experiences.  By providing us with your information, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that information as described.  If you do not want your personal information to be collected, used or disclosed in this manner, then please either: (i) do not submit your personal information to us; (ii) exercise opt-out procedures described above or as may be offered at the time of collection, or (iii) refrain from exercising opt-in procedures described above or as may be offered at the time of collection.

If you have submitted personal information to us and wish to withdraw your consent to its retention, use or disclosure, please send an e-mail to privacy@mediative.com.  You may withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.  If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide some products or services to you. 

Data Security and Integrity

MEDIATIVE has reasonable security policies and procedures in place to protect customer information from unauthorized loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Despite MEDIATIVE’s best efforts, however, security cannot be absolutely guaranteed against all threats. To the best of our ability, access to customer information is limited to those who have a need to know. Those individuals who have access to the data are required to maintain the confidentiality of such information. We also make reasonable efforts to retain customer information only for so long as the information is necessary to comply with a customer request.

How we collect, use and disclose customer information
We only collect customer information as required to meet the purposes that we have identified. We do not indiscriminately collect or retain personal information of our clients. MEDIATIVE typically collects customer information that is voluntarily provided by the customer in question. At times, however, customer information is obtained from other sources, such as government bodies or third parties such as employers, references and service providers, as permitted by law. The purposes for collecting information about our customers and prospective customers is primarily to provide advertising and marketing services, to maintain customer relationships, communicate with our customers, maintain mailing lists and avoid conflicts of interest MEDIATIVE uses third party service providers from time to time to carry out certain functions such as media buying, directory advertising placements in both print and electronic form, printing, storage, shredding or document scanning. Where we use outside service providers, we require the third party to protect personal information in the same manner in which we protect it and to not use or disclose it for any purposes except as directed by MEDIATIVE.

Protecting your customer information
We strive to maintain customer information in as accurate, complete and up-to-date a form as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. We protect customer information by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the customer information, regardless of format. Our security safeguards include premises security and restricted access to files containing customer information. Depending upon the information under our control, we also use technological safeguards such as security software and firewalls to prevent hacking or unauthorized computer access, internal passwords and security policies.

Upon written request to privacy@mediative.com, Mediative will provide access to your personal information, subject to certain exceptions as provided by the applicable legislation.

Our website
Our website uses cookies, which are identifying technologies that your computer receives when you visit certain websites. We do not match or correlate this information with any customer information that you submit to MEDIATIVE. We use permanent cookies for language preference purposes and to analyze website usage. We use temporary (session based) cookies to improve performance and to determine web trends. Temporary cookies disappear when you close your browser window.

Your web browser may be set to accept cookies automatically, but can be changed to decline them. The Help section of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to set your browser to prevent new cookies or disable cookies altogether.

We may use software that receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted YPG Websites. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting YPG Websites.
